Alpha Direct
Direct short-term insurance: car, home, business and travel
Alpha Direct was founded in Gaborone in May 2014 by Arun Iyer, who set out to build Botswana's first direct insurer: car, household, business, travel and other short-term cover sold online and by phone rather than through branches.
It has grown to around 220 staff, opened in South Africa in 2024 and Zambia, and added health insurance in 2026.
