Old Mutual has operated in Botswana since the 1990s, first as Mutual & Federal, and took the Old Mutual name in 2014. The Old Mutual group was founded in Cape Town in 1845, operates in 12 countries and is listed on the Johannesburg and London stock exchanges.
GCR Ratings gives Old Mutual Short-Term Insurance Botswana a national-scale rating of AA-(BW), affirmed in 2025 and again in 2026.
