General insurance and life assurance
Hollard Insurance Company of Botswana opened in 2005 and Hollard Life Botswana followed in 2011. Both belong to the Hollard Group, South Africa's largest privately owned insurer, founded in Johannesburg in 1980 and active in nine African countries outside South Africa.
In 2017 Hollard took over Regent Insurance Botswana and Regent Life Botswana, and in 2025 Hollard Life acquired Absa Life Botswana's insurance business.
Hollard named SATIB Africa Botswana a winner in two categories for independent brokers at its 2025 Honours Awards.
